Leyte IDOL Search Finds a New
Home
TACLOBAN CITY - Leyte's local
singing talent search Leyte IDOL which is now on its seventh
season will have a new home at the Leyte Capitol Gymnasium as
provincial semi-finals kicks off later this November.
A new home is found for this premiere talent search in the
region so that the crowd can enjoy better production numbers in
a closed studio-like venue which offers a more personal
interaction between the performers and their audience.
Three months after the Leyte "Icot's Dream for the yOung Talents
of Leyte" (IDOL) started anew for its seventh season, the search
is now ready for its provincial semi finals.
According to Mr. Loloy Loreto, who heads the Leyte IDOL
Production Team, this season changes venue for aesthetically
improved production numbers that Leyte IDOL fans would want to
see.
The past seasons of the search used the RTR Plaza as the venue
for the weekly semifinals round which offers an open stage and
grounds for everybody to see.
Loreto said other surprises are likewise instore for the
audience who would be viewing the performances live at the Leyte
Gymnasium once the provincial finals start.
"We are preparing many surprises for our audience and we are
sure they would like it. We can't reveal it at the moment so
they just have to watch out once the provincial finals start.
They would enjoy it," Loreto said.
Leyte IDOL Season 7 has been opened to all singing talents from
cities and municipalities in the entire Eastern Visayas region.
The search held auditions in other towns and cities in the
region such as Naval in Biliran, Ormoc City, Borongan City in
Eastern Samar, Calbayog and Catbalogan City in Samar, Catarman
in Northern Samar, and Sogod and Maasin City in Southern Leyte.
Male and female singers, from 15-25 years old, with excellent
vocal quality and possessing a star appeal auditioned for the
search. A number of them have now reached the provincial
semi-finals.
Those who reach the semi-final round in this search are given
proper music training, exposure and opportunities that will help
widen their singing talent and performance.
The Leyte IDOL takes a gruelling minimum of eight
months in the making for each season before the Magic 8 grand
finalists are chosen. During the Leyte IDOL Season 6, which
capped last April this year, some 500 hopefuls from different
towns of the province were screened.
